About
My passion in counselling is to build a relationship grounded in safety, trust, and hope where people feel truly accepted and supported, while also being gently challenged to grow in meaningful ways. I consider it a deep privilege to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their fears, challenges, and hurts, and to support their journey toward healing and restoration.

I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience working with youth and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds, faiths, sexual orientations, and family structures. My approach is sensitive, flexible, and tailored to the unique needs and strengths of each person. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can speak freely without fear of judgment, and where you are never made to feel like a burden or a problem to be fixed.

My training includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), EMDR, mindfulness, and a range of trauma-informed and body-based therapies. I use evidence-based techniques while remaining attuned to your individual experiences, values, and goals so that therapy truly fits who you are.

Much of my clinical work has been trauma-focused, with additional experience in supporting people with depression, anxiety, gender identity exploration, grief, emotional regulation, and relationship and family concerns. I also have a particular interest in supporting individuals and couples navigating infertility. Drawing on both professional and personal insights, I help clients maintain meaningful relationships and manage stress without becoming overwhelmed.

Whether you are seeking short-term counselling for an immediate concern, or long-term support to explore deeper issues, I am here to help you move forward with clarity, strength, and self-compassion.
Outside of Work
Sanjay enjoys spending time with family and friends and finds relaxation and renewal through gardening and cooking. He actively volunteers as Chair of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and serves on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee of the Association of Social Work Boards.
Client Focus
I work with youth and adults from diverse cultures, faiths, sexual orientations, and family structures. I strive to create an affirming and inclusive space where each person feels seen, heard, and respected.
Therapy can also be offered in Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada to support greater comfort and connection.
